Initial Situation
For over 20 years, the GLOBART Academy has been a place to meet change pioneers as well as for an interdisciplinary exchange on future issues and the artful treatment of topics in the zeitgeist. The Weitblickgesellschaft has supported the GLOBART Academy since 2016 and is always welcome to contribute to shaping it.
Solution Approach
Social innovation and positive social change need meeting spaces where changemakers, scientists, artists and practitioners can present, discuss and adapt ideas and enrich them with new impulses. Mutual inspiration and encouragement is a necessary central aspect of this. The GLOBART Academy is such a place. This is where fellow campaigners can be persuaded, discussions stimulated, supporters found and synergies generated.

The Effects
- Direct results (output): the GLOBART Academy reaches a large audience and enables a fertile exchange on current challenges. Through the artistic and scientific reflection of social and cultural questions, spaces of opportunity to find answers are opened up.
- Medium-term effects (outcome): participants leave the GLOBART Academy inspired and invigorated as they return to their respective fields of activity. The networking and meeting of actors in social change processes creates a synergy of forces working positively and constructively toward change.
- Long-term impact: social innovation follows the principle of mimesis (which can be loosely described as creative imitation). Through the reflection and coordination of actors at the GLOBART Academy, solutions and best practice examples are made scalable. In doing so, the three-step approach of social innovation becomes effective: presenting solutions, networking actors and sending them out into the world with refreshed energy.
